Any senator or rep from the late 90's will have some baggage w/r/t Iraq. However, Kerry can still squeak out of this by saying he didn't advocate a near-unilateral action, but instead a 1990-91 UN-sanctioned Gulf War style operation... I can't imagine Kerry saying that we will have to go it alone, Neocon-style.

It will be interesting to see if Hillary Clinton has any baggage from the past, like Kerry has.

In any case, if it is ultimately Kerry vs. Bush, it will still be Bush's war, and it will depend on how the war's going. If it is not clear as to how the war is going (Vietnam took 12 years and this might take as long, if not longer), then it will depend on how the economy's doing.
