The murderer deprives someone of life, and the murderer should be deprived of their life in return. Depriving them of freedom is not just. It is not only about protecting society, but also about serving justice. A habitual criminal who favors prison life (in their twisted mind) might find the best ticket to prison being the murder of someone if he/she didn't have to be concerned about being put to death as a result. ~SB~
