BTW, it does go without saying I hope that one doesn't want to be anywhere near a longer-term short on such a breakout, whether it would come now or in three weeks or whatever. Sure, if it ends up failing then it would be pretty good odds, but to step in front of it is not good odds. It didn't work for the long-term OEX chart I posted a couple of months ago or the long-term SPX chart I posted. Why would stepping in front of the breakout work for the Dow.
