You are undoubtedly right Kevin, but that may be because many of these posters would have one-time invitations and then be off the list.
I suspect that posters like Watson, Prolife, jlallen, cyberken and a few others view themselves as old time sheriffs whose self-assumed role is to shout down all opposition to any radical right views. I wouldn't have any problem with that if they thoughtfully argued logic, beliefs or ideology. The problem lies with the fact that they normally stop with unsupported conclusions which they present with volume, derision and an obligatory attack on the patriotism, Americanism, liberalism, sexual orientation, intellectual capacity and honesty of the poster who has written the post that they attack. It's like cyberspace, old-time, goon squads that are assigned to break the skulls of those that hold the opposing views.
Interesting enough, there seems to be a much smaller minority of posters that are as committed to presenting a "love a liberal America or leave it" philosophy.
It's a little scary to see such committment among posters distinguished by a lack of reflection. Oh well, no matter how hard you punch that ballot, your vote still only counts as one. |
