Well holy crap Batman ...we live in a horrible country of ridiculous political correctness. I just returned from my ten year olds performance in a summer camp program called Art's Adventure (Toronto). Age range 5 to 12. They did a number of songs One was The Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture show... You know and it's the pelvic thrust that'll really drive you insane... which I don't have a problem with BUT they were ordered by the city to change in Let it Be the words Mother Mary comes to me to *Somebody* comes to me and no one gets it. I asked the coordinator who deferred to the music director who in turn confirms that yes the city sent us a directive that Mother Mary politically is incorrect. Something is out of whack here comparing these two songs. I'm saddened, embarrassed and ashamed tonight to be a Canadian. Nothing should have been changed... One counselor comment was <<I thought he was Catholic>> Right ... from the No religion too (Imagine) guy (Lennon) and besides so what if he was .... Who was exactly going to be offended ? Are we soon going to rewrite history too Yet Shelia under who's purview falls the CBC as I recall is fine with moving up a quality American PBS station to the dial hinterlands in favor of a second 'ethnic' channel in the prized lower band which spews out seemingly constant reruns of Raymond, the Simpsons, reality TV and those 1-900-dial a stripper programs.. you get the bit.. regards pi$$ed off.
