We suppose to do the same thing, they call it a retention pond but some how they don't work very well. In one case, they got the damn thing dug but didn't connect the pipes from the neighborhood streets to have a place for the excess water to go so when it came a gully washer, all these homes got a couple of inches of water in 'em.
