<font size=4>"In a televised address last October<font size=3> in which he
sought to rally congressional support for a resolution
authorizing war against Iraq, <font size=4>President Bush declared
that the government of Saddam Hussein posed an immediate
threat to the United States<font size=3> and outlined what he said
was evidence pointing to its ongoing ties with Al-aida."

President Bush NEVER said Iraq was an "IMMINENT THREAT".

FACT:<font size=4>
President Bush never said the words, "imminent threat"
regarding Iraq, he chided those who would wait until the
threat was imminent in the State of the Union Address. And
President Bush did precisely the same thing when addressing
the nation when discussing the Iraq threat.

"Imminent threat" was born by democratic politicians &
liberal media in response to the SOTUA. It was falsely
attributed to President Bush & his Administration by
liberal media & democratic politicians. Then it was used by
the lieral left to make false accusations to scare voters &
sway public opinion.

President Bush Outlines Iraqi Threat

...."Some ask how urgent this danger is to America and the
world. The danger is already significant, and it only grows
worse with time. If we know Saddam Hussein has dangerous
weapons today -- and we do -- does it make any sense for
the world to wait to confront him as he grows even stronger
and develops even more dangerous weapons?" .....

....Some have said we must not act until the threat is
imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced
their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they
strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly
emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations
would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint
of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an
option.....<font size=3>
