tejek,

re:Remember how before the war, the Republic Guard was supposed to be these fierce fighters. Its a joke.......everything related to Saddam was trumped up by the Bush administration to make him look as dangerous and evil as possible.
.

The Iranians and Kuwaiti's have a different opinion. Saddam and his Generals weren't prepared for war against the USA and it's technology or more precisely our modern battlefield tactics. Remember all the reports of tactics being passed onto the Iraqi's from Russia's retired generals?

As for the spin on the threat, I grant they highlighted the nasty bits as much as possible. When sizing up a threat you have to think in worst case and try to plan for everything - impossible, but always you plan for worst case.

re:Even if they could create bio WMD, they had no place to store them. They would degrade in a very short period of time.

If you've done all the basic research and have the equipment on hand (dual use or a centrifuge in the garden) you can make the stuff pretty quickly. Store it in the missiles and go to war, Saddam's big dream was to take out the Israeli's and be the middle eastern hero for all time.

re:They don't know what democracy is.

You don't know what it is, 85% of the nation backed the war and still does. Some even claim they don't care if no WMD is ever found. You're in the minority, majority rules in a democracy.

Personally, I want more evidence and I think it's in Iraq not Washington.
