stockman scott!! and lurqer dude too

re: the article you linked to at:
commondreams.org

that piece is one of the smoking-est guns i have yet seen
unmasking the hidden motives of the current administration
in their foreign and domestic polictical agenda. it's all
about OIL industry interests.

the article you linked to on commondreams.org
gave an overview... but no evidence.

it, in turn, provided a link to another website...
rice.edu
...the james a. baker III institute for public policy
of rice university that is reeking of evidence.

there are studies and reports galore. i wanted a
view that was pre-september 11, 2001 - even pre-bush
admininistration. with a little searching i found
this:

Studies
BAKER INSTITUTE STUDY
Number 14 - November 2000

Published by the James A. Baker III Institute
for Public Policy of Rice University
in conjunction with a program
co-sponsored by the Petroleum
Industry Research Foundation

Running on Empty? Prospects for Future World Oil Supplies

bakerinstitute.org

WAIT! ...don't read it yet. first hold these questions
in your head:

1. did it ever seem strange to you that when
19 saudi arabians hijacked four airliners
and flew them into targets in NY and washington D.C.
we decided that we had to obliterate the taliban
in afghanistan????????????????????????

2. did it ever seem strange to you that as soon as
they were wiped out we "moved on" as if they were
our target all along (not osama bin laden)???????

3. did it make sense to you that where we "moved on"
to was iraq?????

4. did you know that the baker study and the PIRF -
(Petroleum Industry Research Foundation) proclaimed
that the UN sanctions imposed on iraq were detrimental
to US energy and oil interests?

5. can you think of any way that the united states
could get the UN to lift the sanctions on iraq????

B-I-N-G-O!!!!!!!!!

OK. NOW go read the above study paying particular
attention to the section on "energy security and
politics" and the "conclusion" and what the study
says about the taliban (remember - this was prepared
and published a year before 9/11) and what it
says about the UN sanctions on iraq. it's long but
NOT as long as the PNAC's strategy for a new american
century and i think it's just as important a document
in understanding the hidden agenda (read OIL industry
interests) behind the foreign and domestic policy
actions that are being played out by the bush
administration under the public guise of a war on
terrorism and a quest to rid the world of weapons
of mass destruction owned by tiny impotent countries
that don't have any, and have no means to deliver them either.

thought for today:

"We've liberated the people of Iraq.
Quick, lift the sanctions, lift the sanctions."
