It's been more than three months since we have known that Iraq needs an extra 2,000 MW of power to establish a livable level of electricity supply, especially in Baghdad.

Natural Gas for powering gas fired plants is practically free in Iraq.

There are many older gas fired plants that have been recently closed or mothballed in the US because they are too inefficient compared to new combined cycled plants. Just one company, TGN, has more than 4,000 MW of such plants in Texas.

Those plants can be bought for nothing. They can be dismantled, shipped to Iraq and be on line in a few months, IMO.

Why aren't we doing this? It will cost less than what we spend in Iraq in a few days. Of course, there is not much profit in it. Is this it???
