MRV mentioned in Barron'sby: BottomfishBob

For what it's worth, there is a positive mention of MRV in this week's Barron's. The comments are from money manager Bob Marcin."MRV, the maker of optical components, has a solid balance sheet with about $64 million of net cash worth 63 cents a share, and a stock price of $2. The company is operating in the red, having lost 10 cents a share in the second quarter.Marcin believes that MRV is capable of earning 25 cents to 40 cents annually if the Baby Bells step up their deployment of fiber to U.S homes. He likes depressed tech companies such as MRV that have significant revenues because of their inherent operating leverage. MRV has revenues of $250 million annually. He reckons it could be a $5 stock in the next year if there are signs that it is moving solidly into the black."Other than a one-sentence description of MRV in previewing his picks, this is the entire discussion from the article.

The one-sentence description did contain one of Marcin's key points, so I shouldn't have omitted it.It mentioned "a big discount to other optical stocks based on its price/sales ratio."
