Last week we saw State Claims for unemployment drop 29,000, bringing the total below 400,000 for the first time in many months. This, according to the so-called experts, suggests that the worst is over and corporate America will again begin to increase payroll. I wonder. From personal experience recently, I needed help from two sources, Dell and AOL. Both calls were routed to support personnel in INDIA! Imagine my surprise when the men on the other end of the line spoke with an accent. It got me thinking: where are the jobs coming from domestically to support our economic recovery?

All our clothes are made in China these days; all our technical questions are being answered by Indians. What's going on! Yet, New Home Sales are robust domestically. Pre-owned home sales and prices are steady. The economy is inching upward. How far can we go with a jobless recovery? Frankly, the outlook is grim. Anyone with a more optimistic view, please respond. Soon.
