Ray, some people can't chew gum and walk a straight line at the same time, so it's not a surprise that managing a Segway takes some talent.

The evolutionary pressures just keep piling up in the modern world. By 2100 the human gene pool is going to be spectacularly different from now. Eugenics has been practised by nature for eons and isn't slowing down. It's getting a turbo charge.

In addition to the oldest process, natural selection by individual survival [the slow runners got eaten], there followed sexual selection, [weak, ugly guys didn't get to mate], then social complexity for 10,000 years [losers who persisted in walking on their knuckles and those who couldn't count their change lost out], and technology challenge selection for 300 years [getting stuck in industrial machinery belts, crashing cars into abutments and falling off Segways], there is going to be genetic engineering and selection of hot-shot zygotes.

All to no avail because It is looming large, burgeoning wildly as you read this at a speed which would make It think you are as fixed as a rock.
