Jrhana, I want to correct myself re the % CaO comparison between Ekati and Shear. They both had 2%. Here's what is written on page 304, in "Barren Lands":

<font color=green> ...The big chrome diopside near the ovular lake was impressive, but the thing Hugo liked most was a fresh report from John Gurney. Chuck had sent Gurney raw data from mineral analyses throughout the claims, and Gurney saw many G10's had only 2 percent calcium - fantastically low. His he said, increased diamond potential even more. The ilmenite chemistries, too, were outstanding, he said. He couriered an independant report: "Thae dataset represents the best for diamond potential that we have seen anywhere in the world and we have know doubt that highly diamondiferous kimberlite is the source of the heavy minerals."
With this as leverage, Chuck and Stew ganged up and bullied Hugo mercilessly....

Finally on Aug 31 they struck a deal. Chuck and stew agreed to each recieve a 10 % personal stake of any possible mine. Diamet shareholders go 29%, further bosltering Chcuk's and Stew's portions, since bot owned many shares. BHP got the remaining, controlling interest - 51%. But only after it fronted a staggering $500,000,000 for exploration and development....
