Tikrit seems to be the place.

So Saddam's on a 'where to next' trip, with presumably only a handful of protectors. Or fewer. With many people wanting to get the reward for potting him to the Americans, it must be tricky to hide. He'd have to climb in the boot of a vehicle to move around unseen. I dare say roads out of Tikrit are being checked and there aren't very many of them. Sure enough - just a few: globalsecurity.org

With everyone super alert, nothing would move without suspicion. I suppose he has somebody check a route for him to ensure there's no check point. Somebody on a motorcycle could do that, or even a bicycle. Even walking would do it. Though I suppose somebody doing a lot of walking would start to look suspicious.

But maybe there's a bunker entrance somewhere. He must have allowed for that in his palace design.

I suppose he's going to die where he was born and like his sons go down firing back. I doubt that he'll be taken prisoner - he probably doesn't want to be taken prisoner and the Americans don't want him alive.

If he lasts the week I'll be surprised.

PS: People say that Islamic Jihad is due to envy of Americans. Well, perhaps the attack on Iraq and Saddam was because King George II was envious of Saddam's flash palaces whereas George has to live in the scungy old White House and the hunt for BigFoot with WMDs was just an excuse.
