Thomas Sowell, as always, writes a lot of sense. Scroll to archives, at the bottom and click on <07/24/03: Weapons of political destruction>: jewishworldreview.com

The USA's main foreign effect is the integration of the world's brain-power with American companies and universities. This is a generally under-recognized phenomenon which is going to have huge impact. It's globalisation writ large. It's also a fluid phenomenon because cyberspace is as slippery as it gets, and the allegiance of the world's brain-power could easily shift from American to other companies or associations.

There's a lot going on in the world these days. The End of History has certainly not arrived.
