Chuckie, he brings it up because there is a thing called human rights. That's a concept which has been developing for quite a few centuries and that the USA purports to have more than a passing acquaintance with.

The USA even presumes to lecture other countries about human rights, though they aren't saying so much these days about them, [other than to pressure countries to agree not to allow any Americans to be handed over to the International Court of Justice for abuse of human rights].

You got the second point right, but most people have an agenda, which really just means a consistent point of view.

Meanwhile, you are hereby banned from the discussion for two days for breaching rules as established by Faultline. I have just appointed myself as the adjudicator, for now anyway, in Faultline's absence.
