Mark,

I think you are mostly right on. I am not an expert on all of AWRE's relationships. WSTL seems to be the one poised to utilize your scenario of selling to telcos through partnering the best. But I believe that ADSL installation by the telcos will eventually become ubiquitous and there will be a huge market selling to individuals. Granted there are compatibility issues to hammer out over the next few years, but eventually ADSL modems will be as interchnageable as todays 28.8's. For every ADSL capable line the telcos put in there will be a corresponding individual who will need an ADSL modem. I guess part of the question is where will that individual get that ADSL modem? I have heard several comments that the telco or ISP will rent the ADSL modem to the customer, but I don't think that will be a lasting trend. It may be the way it starts, sort of to get the ball rolling, but eventually the ADSL/highbandwidth connectivity device will become a part of the unit the individual uses to access the net. Wether that is a computer or a TV or a phone or a toaster doesn't really matter. What is important is it will be the individuals choice as to what that ADSL/highbandwidth connectivity device will be and from whom to puirchase it. I use the ADSl/highbandwidth term because it may not be ADSL that is the access method of choice. But if it is, then, in this kind of a world an AWRE USR/COMS alliance would be very profitable.

Thanks,
bps
