I think the press is overwhelmingly concerned that Americans are killed when the war is "over". Yet tens of thousands die on the highway, and no one is marching to "Ban the Automobile Commute".

The reality is, there is a huge Ba'ath party machine, far more ruthless with a purity for violence than any Nazi party ever was. The Nazis never issued arms to the rank and file, come one, come all. As the article just posted here from the WSJ said, the average person in the US has NO CONCEPT of the nature of the cruelty and suffering in Iraq, and the large number of people involved with the cruelty, who still battle the US forces.

The general population's greatest Fear is that we will get discouraged and leave. We should have big demonstrations with signs reading "Iraq: We Will Stay and Defeat the Ba'ath". If 100,000 people marched in Washington with =that= resolve, the Ba'ath and their terrorist allies would wither away in discouragement. Instead, we get headlines about minor bickering which give the Ba'ath hope.
