Gore Vidal had an active correspondence with Tim McVeigh before his execution.

Vidal believes that the Oklahoma City bombing was a prelude to 9/11, and that McVeigh was just the patsy.

Vidal is a rational man. And no conspiracy theory crazed wacko. (No pun intended.)
