thanks for the comparisons - they are very
helpful. here's another important one:

approx. airfare from Dec 19 to Jan 3 from
vancouver:

to loreto - $1200/person
to belize - $1900/person

that's a significant difference. (a month
ago it was $1100 to loreto)

so, as far as our winter holiday goes,
we'll more than likely do loreto.
as far as our winter residence goes, when
we reach that point, is still up for grabs
cause we won't be travelling during peak
times and that might make all the difference.

we're just looking at a whole bunch of things
right now. i'm thinking we can do anything we
want to, if we want to badly enough.
