Ok. The intelligence on the Niger uranium was faulty (the WH has admitted that). It was faulty back in Oct 2002 when the WH wanted to use it in a speech. Tenet had to send a couple of memos and finally make a phone call to convince the WH to take the reference out. They did.

However, the reference snuck back into the SOTU. Why? How? Who put it back in? Was it incompetence, as Rice's deputy Hadley claims, or insistence of someone higher up? Rice said no one got the memos, and the blame was pinned on Tenet. Then, we find out that Hadley 'forgot' about Tenet's prior insistence on removing this phrase.

So, Rice either lied or was derelict in her duties. Either way, this may be the tip of the iceberg, given the fact that we still have found NO WMD and NO Al Qaeda link.

Time for that special prosecutor...
