Cut the whining $#@&, will you? Microsoft has gotten to where it is today by creating an open platform, and the rest is history. Nobody has held a gun to anyone's head forcing them to buy Windows. It comes down to personal choice, as all things do. How many programs can run on Wintel but not on Mac? Enough to persuade many people it is not worth the investment. In addition, the usability gap is really no longer an issue, IMO. FWIW, I have a great respect for APPL but they are resigned to being a niche player now.

BTW, I always hear from Mac people how Steve Jobs, the Wunderkind, created the GUI, the interface which we are all now familiar with. Let's remember the facts as they stand in computer history though. Jobs got the idea from Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center(PARC also invented the mouse and Ethernet). So please refrain from your chants that MS stole the GUI idea from Apple. Yes, they did, but only after Jobs lifted it from Xerox.

Congrats to all AAPL owners today.

BK
