OT economy, iraq, tax cuts and presidential elections
Re: disappointing consumer confidence numbers released today.
Perhaps a false reading based on bad news bears and iraq. One thing happened to me personally yesterday is that my daughter who is a Dean democrat(What can i do?) called me all excited that she had received her $400 tax rebate check for her child. The receipt of those checks and a better iraq situation could put the final kabosh on the never ending lack of real growth syndrome. Mike
PS I told my daughter she should thank GW and that she is a beneficiary of the tax break for the rich all the leftys complain about. She said blah blah blah. When i told her that her next child whose due date is november would get her another $400 when she files her taxes, she stopped with the blah blah blah. As the economy got stronger in the year preceding the Reagan reelection, Mondales chances diminished rapidly.
