A lot of us expectd them to announce some deals around the time of their conference call and quarterly earnings but that hasn't happened. I don't know of any deals they have signed. I think their first busines will be with Asian mafrs. and not mainstream U.S. OEMs. Major deals would be nice, but they need to get the damn thing into "meaningful" production before any large order commitments are likely to be placed. I think that at the leverage IDT should be able to achieve by ramping up production of communications, specialty memories and other products outside of anything they might get out of the C6 can propel earnings enough to move the stock higher.

The CEO said that he hoped to report progress on general sales and the C6 during the next reporting period. I hope he stays fired up and the board holds management accountable to their business plan - then we may finaly see some results from the large R&D and facilities budgets that have crippled earnings over the past several months.

The C6 is a gamble for IDT but a very cheap one in comparison to what other companies have paid to get into the X86 market. They haven't built dedicated facilities or spent very much for R & D compared to anyone else in the business. If they meet with only meager results it can still be positive to the bottom line. Don't bank on the C6 yet. IDT makes a broad array of products that will do very well in a robust IC market.
