12 years ago the Saudis were being threatened as well

That's bullshit and we knew it then very well. Saddam telegraphed his intentions in Kuwait to Bush Sr well before the invasion...the only thing he did not do was write him a letter...

In the recent war, oil wasn't a major consideration. The Saudis weren't threatened, and they are the guys with their hands on the oil throttle.

You called me an idiot...I won't call you one, but I am thinking it. The Saudis are threatened from within. The kingdom is a cauldron of malcontent and could go up like a powder keg anytime. This is the prime reason this administration and previous ones have treated SA with kid gloves and the prime reason the 28 pages are redacted out of the 9/11 report. The US and the world have a serious problem if SA fell in the hands of religious fanatics who could use it to severly disrupt western economies. We would have to go to war and we would not have an Iraq to conquer, where Saddam's tiranny (and stupidity) paved the way for a US invasion. In SA we would face an extremely hostile Islamist population. You think oil has nothing to do with Iraq? Get serious. Why are we not in NK, where the security threat to America is far more imminent and tangible? There are both military and humanitarian problems there to make Iraq pale by contrast. Nothing but misery there pal.

Saddam was a growing cancer, generally causing problems throughout the region.

Nonsense....Saddam had been reduced to a two bit dictator contained within his own borders...by all evidence there are no weapons there and the administration had to resort to exageration to make their case for war.

This is all about politics to you three.

There is not a political bone in my body.
