Why? How about this: To wipe the slate clean -- eliminate debt, transfer ownership to the debt holders, and thereby also eliminate us pesky common shareholders who are only a nuisance and complain about management rather than glorify them as the deities they think they are. They sure showed us, right?

Bernie already protected himself years ago by selling himself our aircraft parts business, the only profitable part of the company. Sure would be nice to have that cash flow now, wouldn't it?
