Social Security benefits to retirees would have to be cut by nearly a third by 2039 if no changes are made to the system to keep it afloat, congressional investigators said Tuesday.
Social Security has always been a big pyramid scheme. Sooner or later, the base support tier will diminish and its supporting contributors will become unable to meet the demand of the system, regardless of how much they are taxed. It is a mathematical fact.
Labor force growth will begin to slow after 2010, and by 2025 it is expected to be less than a third of what it is today.
Then, we will have a bunch of retirees milling around and wanting the services they've been accustomed to receiving all of their lives, but the work force will be inadequate to supply those services.
Meanwhile, the gov fat cats will continue to rob the coffers to pay for their respective lavish lifestyles. What's a few billion here or there in the world's largest economy? Right?
I see a very socialistic U.S. in the future, with a far lower standard of living for the "middle class."
But ya know what? This trouble is all a couple of decades away. The Dow will be 100,000 by then and the Dung will be 80,000. Nevermind that a loaf of bread will cost $25.00 and a tank of gas $100.00. "A new home," you say? Priceless. -ng-
Falling fertility rates threaten the system's financial future even further.
LOL! Who wants to have children in this f*cked up world, except the most unintelligent? Besides, they will eventually clone replacements, ensuring the cloned drones have IQs of 75 or less with a genetic pre-disposition to always be happy, even if their sole purpose is to shovel their maker's $hit 24x7.
