re: The army for Viet Nam was a drafted Army. A President sending a "non free-will" army off to a war they couldn't or wouldn't win is a much different story.

Very good point. The CNN couch potato patriots, if their kids are either forced into combat, or even potentially subject to the draft, may look a little closer at the justification for a war, the (human) cost vs. reward.

Frankly, a draft, instead of volunteer armed forces could have almost veto power on stupid wars. That's why the draft was eliminated, replaced by marketing.
