PacRim Resources to acquire Solomon data from Inco

2003-07-29 15:41 MT - News Release

Mr. Ken Baird reports

PACRIM TO ACQUIRE EXPLORATION DATA

PacRim Resources has entered into an agreement to acquire historical exploration data on its Solomon Islands nickel laterite exploration properties from Inco.

Inco explored for nickel laterite occurrences in the Solomon Islands from 1963 to 1967. Its initial work included prospecting, mapping and sampling areas of reported laterite nickel showings on several islands, including Santa Isabel and San Jorge. Subsequent exploration by Inco on the two islands included pitting, drilling and sampling to define the nature and dimensions of potential nickel deposits. PacRim can earn up to a 70-per-cent interest in four exploration licences on Santa Isabel and San Jorge by spending $3-million on the properties before Dec. 31, 2006. The licences encompass a total area of 396 square kilometres.

Under the terms of the agreement, PacRim will issue 1.5 million shares of its common stock to Inco and grant Inco the right to purchase all ore produced from the properties on an arm's-length basis at prevailing industry commercial terms.

The completion of the agreement is subject to regulatory approval.
