Have you ever heard of the nation state. The UN is not world government; it is a collection of nation states. You are a visionary and hopelessly naive at the same time. I root for your world to come along and where a responsible international government runs things. But you will not see that in your lifetime so you have to be real. States act in what they perceive to be their own self interest. If Clinton was still president betcha policy would have been the same. Clinton to this day regrets not acting in 1998. The iraq war will be a great credit to bush when history judges the results and back in 1998 it would have been the same for clinton. The democrats are just jealous of the results. None of this is meant to minimize the cost to date and likely the cost going forward for at least a few more months. mike
