In addition to the $150M, Apple will apparently receive additional $ from the Borg, er Microsoft, for access to technology: biz.yahoo.com.

It's interesting that a little over a week ago, Bill Gates dismissed Rhapsody as irrelevant. Now, apparently, MSFT will be buying the rights to some NeXT technology from AAPL.

While Microsoft denies any "convergence" is planned between the competing OS, Rhapsody may be taking us in that direction anyway.

Everyone figures that MSFTs move is a cynical attempt to ward off the trust busters. That may be part of it, but I suspect gaining access to Apple patents probably cinched the deal.
