"However, we may also damage the name of the United States of America for many years to come...

That is why the search is so vital."

The search, when successful, will have some redemptive value. I doubt seriously if we would see throngs of people changing their view of Bush or the USA. There are all kinds of reasons to hate the USA or to love it. Peops pick their view point and pretty much hang on to it. Some might be muffled or bolstered from time to time but that is about all that I can see.

The situation in Iraq is changing from moment to moment. In general it is changing for the better for the Iraqis but there will always be many Iraqis who will not be happy with any situation and the US will have to take our lumps as we go.

The main thing is, as changes occur, the moment defines the reality of circumstance. When a new Iraq emerges, the issue of Bush having being wise or not will be an issue only as it benefits political pundits.

Every modern nation has a stake in the future of Iraq. The most vocally critical are the ones who's stake is shrinking. What's that tell you?
