DB has had a fun week
the blood diamond law got passed in the US I think today
DB wants into the US for 2004/05
DB is haggling with the EU over it's deal in russia - something about being an anticompetitive deal
DB is pe-ed I'd say about the 8% tax in SA and ralfe said something in that NR about having a long look at canada

lo and behold - they do a 180 on MPV

the deal with GEM comes out and it's the best deal to date I think with a junior in canada - GEM can work on the property till they form a JV - that plant you saw pics of was being 'souped' up at lakefield labs over the winter. no reason that it can't be turned on again I suspect. GEM used it to get that modeled grade at GENESIS of 30cpht! last Sept.

DB recently made a deal with DIOS before DIOS found any diamonds - Pele at least has a few already

How did the diamonds get there - my understanding is that they were in a 'pipe' once and then it got thrusted, heaved, faulted etc and now it's sitting on surface. one other thought has it as a big blow thru a # of holes and it occurred multiple times which might account for the different layers - any commnets from EC? any way ya lok at it - ait aint' a pretty looking typical pipe - but it is on surface and that lone drill hole hit almost 100M of rock that has been diamond bearing rock to date

Don't forget - a couple mths back GEM said they had typical indicators - G9 + 10's and they supposdly plot like the victor pipe plot which is published in the OGS report for JBL - that would be sweet - victor is moving ahead at a cost of $700MM - there hasn't been any dissing of the quality of the wawa stones - just that no large 'honking' ones like ABZ has yet
