Derek,
I wrote much the same thing yesterday. Stop stealing my material. <g> Seriously, NK is a classic case of multiple opinions and no clear best one. Why is multilateral talks better than bilateral? Beat me? And why are bi better than multi? Same answer.
On one hand the problem is regional and calls for a regional solution--enter the other players. But on another level NK, by joining the nuke club, is a global concern and as we have seen, no other nation is willing to take action save the US.
History may judge that war was the answer, years earlier and up to today. The other solution may be flat out appeasement. Buy their nuke program for the cost of a war (for argument sake 50 billion) and sign a non-aggression pact with NK. And since Kim is a movie buff, have Gore intervene with the Hollywoodstocracy and get Kim a role in the next Bond flick=="The Day 007 Died". That should solve all outstanding problems. One more thing--In the future "Let them build cars, not nukes". mike
