That's about as meaningful as saying Hillary's plan for universal health care is a "turn in the direction of communism." Technically true, but fundamentally alarmist.


You're playing word games with JF's post instead of addressing the issue.

In a very short period of time, this country has begun to slip in many small ways that could well coalasce over time into a major downturn. Bush has pandered to some of the most base elements of our society.........the religious right, the militant aggressives, the not for prime time racists etc. Whenever a society does that, its downfall usually is not far behind.

We are in a very scary time where we have a president quoting from the scriptures to explain his position on policy. A president who says preemption is the American way and gets away with it. A president who actively fights with the Supreme Court on issues. A president who is capable of intentionally misleading his people to get what he wants. In a very short time, this president has divided the country in ways that may become irreparable. I would not take what JF's says on this issue lightly.
