More good economic news:




FORD REPORTED that U.S. vehicle sales fell 10.7% in July, amid discounting and discontinuation of certain vehicles. GM sales fell 5.5%, while DaimlerChrysler sales fell 8%. Toyota sales rose 4.5%, and Nissan's North America unit reported sales rose 5.9%.
