Why so certain?

You know......people make too many assumptions about people without really checking things out. That's why people are stunned and shocked when the quiet, church going, nice guy down the street kills his entire family. If you watch, it happens over and over in this society.

Well, with Saddam, he seemed to be the ultimate bad boy. He looked bad and he had enough credentials to support his bad boy image. And then, there was the American propaganda to refresh that bad boy image from time to time. He was ruthless at home inn order to keep control over the Iraqis......you see how they are after three months.....they are one very dysfunctional, aggressive, vocal people. Saddam knew his people well.

He attacked Iran because we gave our tacit approval. I think he assumed he had the same approval when he attacked Kuwait.....was he shocked when Bush I kicked his ass. Its funny......D.Ray complains that Clinton looked to be weak that's why Saddam kicked the weapons inspectors out in '98. Well, then Saddam must have attacked Kuwait because he thought Bush I and Reagan were wimpy pipsqueaks......at least according to the way Mr. Ray views things.

I believe the truth is Saddam did what he thought he could get away with hoping that the US was not watching too closely. However that was then, by 2000 Saddam was getting on in years......his fighting days were over. I've said before that he gave every indication of some one who is strongly into job security. Bush had to work hard to trump up the charges against Saddam because in his own convoluted way, Saddam was complying with Bush's demands.......and Bush knew it. That's why he wouldn't wait for the weapon inspectors to finish their job. He wanted Saddam's head........and he moved on Saddam when he didn't have to.....it looks like it may be his undoing.

In any case, that's why I was certain that Saddam did not present a threat to the America. And I was not the only one who thought that.........that's why people are p*ssed.
