I saw Ararat last night- Atom Egoyan's new film. It's about the Armenian genocide. I highly recommend it. It's not only a good historical movie, it's a great movie in its own right. The subject matter seems particularly relevant today.

Ararat (2002)
Starring: David Alpay, Arsinee Khanjian
Director: Atom Egoyan
Synopsis: Engrossing, offbeat drama tackles issues of identity, history, and denial as a film-within-the-film limns the WWI-era genocide of Armenians by Ottoman Turks, while in modern-day Toronto the ancestors still wrestle with the event's legacy. (Miramax)
Runtime: 126 minutes
MPAA Rating: R - for violence, sexuality/nudity and language
Genre: Drama
Country of Origin: Canada
