On the news last night Ma. will be firing a great deal of tenure teachers. some with 15 or 20 years... These are teachers who cannot pass an English verbal test... Incredible, isn't it? California is finally getting rid of the "Bi-lingual" classes that have kept Mexican kids from learning to speak English. It has been a racket out there for a long time. Make sure you read the Times article I posted a URL to on the new NYC teaching methods being introduced. The reporter did some in-depth and makes it sound like a disaster in the making.
