Market Axxess and other electronic trading systems do not really change the nature of the bond market pricing system or put big players like PIMCO at a disadvantage.
As someone who works at a major bond dealer house, I assure you that the only people losing in the electronic systems is the wall street houses who could read/front run some of the smaller/stupider players in the market. The smaller investors now have much better pricing transparency. For the big guys like PIMCO, PUTNAM, etc these systems provide no change other than reduce some of the backoffice paperwork.
