Read that Hitchens piece. Was shocked and a bit dismayed at why he even wrote it (was Hope friends with Henry K?), because I think he's a good writer, if too often a bit mean-spirited. Just poor taste overall, and incorrect at that. I caught some of an old "Road..." film a few years ago, first one I ever saw. Made me laugh out loud on several occasions. I was surprised by another Hope film I watched a while ago; he was much more than the golf club-swinging emcee of USO shows. Yet, for that alone Hope was a great man. Bad form by Hitchens.
