That wasn't intended to be good natured or funny so don't give Foxlette a bad time because she likes us. Anyone stupid enough to set themselves on fire deserves what they get.

Now, with regard to some of your other posts, I think I need to clarify a few things. You were vehemently opposed to any action in Iraq and I can both accept and respect that. People are entitled to their own opinions on the issue regardless of who agrees with them.

The problem came from a post where you intentionally made it sound as if you had done a tour of duty DURING the Vietnam War. You used "experience" to attack others who didn't hold the same opinion as you did as it applied to Iraq. From those claims you were given the benefit of the doubt because most people thought you had "experience" that made it hard to disagree with you. Vets get an element of respect that civilians don't because they've been there - but you hadn't. When your claims of active duty during the war were exposed as exaggerations, if not outright lies, your credibility was instantly destroyed. What you fail to understand is that had you said you'd done active clean-up duty AFTER the war, people would have still respected your thought process. But instead you decided to embellish the truth and use those embellishments as a weapon. That didn't sit well with people because they felt they had given a person the benefit of the doubt only to find out they were lied to. It also was a slap in the face to people like my Uncle who did 3 tours in Vietnam. So don't be too quick to judge an entire thread or group of people for responding negatively to your falsehoods. Not being truthful with people will generally draw a negative reaction just like it did when Clinton shook his finger in our face while claiming to have not had sex with Lewinski.

I'm sure you're down on GWB for entering Iraq under the pretence that Iraq had WMD's. At this point in time, to many, it appears those charges may have been trumped up - and time will tell that story. But, if we don't find anything, there will be a great many people who will be very angry. Why? Because they will feel like they were lied to. So you see negative reactions to untruthfulness or exaggeration is not just a Democrat thing. It's a reaction that is universal and has no political, racial, religious or gender boundaries.

You, Bid Buster, were not honest with people and worse yet you used that lack of honesty as backup to be critical of others. That and that alone is what drew the negative reaction to you as a poster. What’s worse is from that point on you didn't conduct yourself with any humility.

So go on being judgmental of the Piffers but at least nobody in this group tried to cloak themselves in falsehoods to support their case.
