As I said, I am still undecided, though I am not finding your arguments convincing so far.
My point is that the government has to tread very, very carefully when it decides to deny something to a group. In the examples you mentioned, there is a factor that affects the proper carrying out of the job, something that directly damages others. You must believe that there is something in a gay relationship that prevents them doing as good a job as hetero in terms of a caring marriage or that damages other people?

I am on the opposite side from you with regards to children raised by gays but agree that it will be years before we begin to be able to tell. I imagine we will see- as we do in hetero parenting- anything from dysfunctional to very "normal" and stable results. I don't believe it will be a disaster. Of course, I thought the generation being placed in childcare facilities would end up in some form of disaster, too, but they seem to have the same sort of mixed results of every generation.
