I advocate talks without delay -- months have been wasted.
Wasted? Come on now.. had you had your choice, China would never have needed to be involved. You would have been groveling to Kim Jong Il BEGGING AND PLEADING with him.. willing to pay any price to keep him from being a "bad boy"..
But just as I discussed, China's new leader, Hu Jintao, "stepped up to the plate" and recognized that China's self-interest was to maintain stability on the Korean peninsula.
In fact, he felt this to such a strong degree that he sent a personal letter to Kim Jong Il recently that stated just that...
And THAT, not your groveling attitude, is what brought N. Korea to the bargaining table.. They lost the support of their biggest patron, China...
2) The smaller the number of countries at the table the better.
Geezus!!.. you're so inane!!.. The countries who deserve to be at that table are the ones who have been directly threatened by N. Korea, and who share a border with that nation... The more the merrier..
It's TIME to apply INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE upon Kim Jong Il to reform his economy, his government, and the hopes and future of the N. Korean people.. And the more nations possible, the better...
There is no need for the Japanese to be part of this.</iL
I guess you need to tell them that... After all, it was THEIR COUNTRY whom N. Korea launched a missle over...
If anything, they and S. Korea are, at a minimum, two nations that need to be involved..
I just thank god that you're not in charge of US-Asian relations..
