Needless to say, the Bush Doctrine was an LSD-like hallucination and, like a drug trip, it was fun while it lasted. Fun, that is, for the stateside trippers -- although not so fun for those who made the physical trek to Iraq.

You're going to have to remind me what part of the Bush Doctrine told us that the occupation of Iraq would be a total picnic with no problems, I must have missed it.

Besides, they make it sound like we're fighting Ho Chin Minh all over again, instead of disorganized attacks from Uday's fedayeen and die-hard Baathists. All that means is that the moping-up operations are still continuing.
