Hawk, you don't seem to get it. We adopted the Bush Doctrine and then put North Korea on our hit list. That amounts to a threat. That is clearly the North Korean understanding of it. They wanted to talk directly to negotiate a non-agression pact. We would probably need the Chinese at our side because they understand the North Koreans far better than we, and they are propping up North Korea. These talks are URGENT. We now have a six ring circus. Time works against us because there is a real threat from North Korea -- and they are using the time we are foolishly giving them to build nukes -- not smart.
