I wasn't talking about the severity of the Naz's fall but rather the longevity.

It hasn't been extraordinarily long for the aftermath of a drop of that size, esp when you add in external factors that can't be blamed on Bush such as 9/11.

One more time.......I said that the length of the downturn had been effected by Bush's actions while in office........the Iraq war, deficit spending, etc. Had his actions been less negative to the markets, the downturn my not have lasted as long. And btw, it is unclear still whether the downturn is over or not.

The tax cuts have been a less than minor influence.

We can keep going back and forth on that one forever. Neither of us can possibly prove it to the other.

Sorry, but the refis have generated many billions of dollars of income within a quick two year period........the tax cuts will generate that much over several years. Furthermore, many people such as those who are self employed were never eligible for the tax cuts but they were able to generate income from a refi.

You're kidding yourself if you think the two economic generators of income are equal to each other. Proof will be this coming year if interest rates continue to rise, cutting off the refi spigot.

You all can't see the forest for the trees. "It is the economy, stupid" was far more important a factor to the voters than raising taxes.

And the raising of the taxes was one of the reasons why the economy did poorly.

Never mind.
