Skeeter, this is more interesting than talking about MU :-).
ridhar, that wasn't my central thesis. humans make decisions off of our limited perceptions of truth. truth does, however, tend to influence our perceptions. have you ever ran into something that you didn't perceive, a table, a chair or whatever? your perception that it wasn't there didn't prevent reality from bruising you, did it? prior to reality thumping you, though, you were as happy as can be and that table, chair or whatever didn't influence you one bit. again, your perception didn't change reality. reality is reality. if you cross reality then you get bruised.
You are missing the point that I made earlier. If I run into the table (and I did not know it was there), I get bruised. If I was a 1000 lb gorilla running into the table, it simply does not matter. the table does not exist as far as I am concerned. If I was an ant crawling under the table, the table is my universe. I don't even know that there is anything beyond the table and it is not even a table, it is much more.
So, the notion of reality is not independent of the observer. You have, quite correctly, made the point earlier about demand and supply. Similarly, reality (or truth) cannot be dissociated from the observer. The truth is only as we see it, especially with something as complex as the stock market. If a large number of people see the same truth (irrespective of what the real truth might be), they will all act accordingly and make it appear that their truth is the real truth. In this case, if a large number of people think MU is on its way up (due to the reality of their perception), they buy the stock (as is happening now). Of course, you might have access to information that might negate their reality in your perception, hence your bearish position on the stock. But you have to accept that there are not too many takers for your version of the reality or the truth currently, hence the divergence between the market and your view point.
You simply cannot dissociate the role of the observer from reality or perception or truth. If you do, then you would end up with a situation that simply overlooks the ultimate reality, that, that which is real is only a consequence of perception (kind of like for a blind man, there are no colors beyond black).
So, MU and everything else, is governed by perceived reality and turth. This truth can keep changing depending on the observers and their abilities.
