Scott,

This sounds a lot like the economic roundtables that Clinton did and that Bush them mimicked so terribly with his "amen chorus" down in Waco.

These gatherings are nothing but silly photo ops. I'd much prefer to have Kerry presenting some rousing stump speeches instead of quietly listening to the voters.

Generally, the list of initiatives that were put forth in this press release seem to give pabulum a bad name. Kerry is going to cut waste? How bold. He's going to do 'something-or-other-but-we're-not-sure-what' about alternative energy? How bold.

Deal with the crisis in college funding with no new money but a scheme for streamlining? That'll help!

I dunno. I'm hearing insipid homilies and tired cliches in this position paper.

Where's the notification to America that Bush lied us into an unwinnable war? Where's the notification to America that the theft of the the nation's common future for the sake of a small handful of Bush contributors has got to stop?

This is the question I'd pose to Kerry at one of his meetings: "Mr. Kerry, can you be any more bland and innocuous?"
